Wagner’s contract work moves fast. Construction and service-based agreements cover everything from equipment rentals and sales to service contracts, and manually reviewing them used to take a couple of hours per contract.
Indemnification clauses were the biggest risk. Wagner’s team reviews a high volume of them every week, and the wording is often nearly identical from one contract to the next, which makes a slight change or modification easy to miss, even though it can shift the meaning of the whole clause.
That time cost left no room for organization-wide work. With most of the reviews resting on one attorney, the team had a backlog of company forms that had gone unrevised. With contract review eating most of the day, there was no capacity to get to them.
After conducting an extensive search and numerous demos to find the right software, Wagner selected LegalOn as the best fit for the organization's needs. LegalOn now helps process, review and frame contract sections on a daily basis, flagging indemnification additions or modifications that might otherwise slip through a manual read.
LegalOn’s Improve Prompt feature has become part of that shift. Reviews started out as a long item-by-item checklist; now, with a better sense of how to prompt LegalOn, reviews are tailored to Wagner’s standards, making it faster and easier to pass agreements to the risk manager for final sign-off. The team has also incorporated LegalOn’s Vault repository into its workflow to better manage signed contracts and company documents.
Wagner's onboarding centered on close support from LegalOn's Customer Success team. The team describes their Customer Success Manager as a 'one-stop shop' that's been instrumental in helping navigate their contracting work.
Since adopting LegalOn, Wagner has seen measurable gains:
"LegalOn is our safety net when it comes to indemnification clauses. I review a high volume of these clauses weekly, and LegalOn helps detect nuanced additions or modifications that might otherwise be missed during a manual review." — Tyler Paddor, Risk Contract & Legal Compliance Analyst, Wagner
Before LegalOn, a fast-paced contract workload left no room for anything beyond the next agreement. Now that routine review takes a fraction of the time, Wagner’s team has bandwidth for higher-value work, like modernizing company forms that needed revisions. What used to be a full-time bottleneck is now a foundation for bigger projects.
Wagner is exploring Vault Projects, a newer LegalOn feature that lets teams set analysis criteria in plain language, like whether a contract includes a confidentiality clause or liability cap, then run that check across dozens of documents at once. Results land in a table they can filter and sort, with source text available for every result. That turns a question like "which vendor agreements auto-renew without notice" into a quick lookup instead of a document-by-document search.
Wagner is also looking to streamline its internal intake process further with LegalOn.
