At ISS, Victor Rivera, Corporate Contract& Legal Analyst, manages all day-to-day contracting. Victor was spending hours line-editing MSAs, NDAs, and distributor agreements. Working from scattered guidelines and checklists, every draft required a manual, clause-by-clause read to spot risks and insert preferred language, work that slowed the business and put pressure on a small team.
ISS chose LegalOn to accelerate reviews without overhauling processes. Victor primarily reviews within LegalOn’s Microsoft Word add-in, where he also leverages LegalOn Assistant:
“I call LegalOn Assistant my legally trained teammate. It helps me catch risks, break down complex language, and draft the wording I’m looking for.” — Victor Rivera
Adoption was fast and lightweight. From day one, Victor ran LegalOn directly inside Microsoft Word to execute playbooks, flag issues, and apply redlines without changing ISS’s workflow. He layered ISS’s internal standards on top of LegalOn’s benchmark playbooks for broader coverage, then relied on LegalOn’s AI alerts and AI Revise (one-click redlines) to insert ISS-approved language and clean up provisions.
“It’s cut my review time significantly—almost in half. We’re turning contracts in 3–5 days instead of two weeks, so projects start faster and cash comes in sooner.” — Victor Rivera
LegalOn Assistant functions as a real-time partner for comprehension and drafting. It explains dense provisions in plain language, generates and improves clause wording and model language, and summarizes counterparty changes and redlines for quick alignment, all while serving as a brainstorming partner for a lean team. “I use it like a second person to bounce ideas off of. It speeds up my understanding and reduces research time,” says Victor.
ISS plans to continue evolving its custom playbooks as a living project and deepen use of LegalOn’s assistant capabilities. With security as a priority, LegalOn remains the only AI tool the team needs to scale contract work without adding headcount.
